Little Miss Aligned is a puzzle game developed in Unity that takes place in a 3D environment and uses camera perspective within this 3D world to solve puzzles using 2D logic.
The game world is centered around a travelling carnival that has come to visit a small town in early autumn. Things do not always make sense in the world, but the main character, Hannah, uses her imagination to overcome obstacles in her way.
I was one of four Level Designers on this project. I worked along side the other designers to create a tutorial that was intuitive, fun, and informative. The third level of the game was designed by myself and another designer. Together we designed the teaching and testing stages of this level, then each created our own puzzle to challenge the players understanding. The puzzle that I worked on featured a crows nest and ship's wheel. It is a classic puzzle where the player can loop back around if they miss a piece of the bigger puzzle.
I was the Environmental Artist on the team. I worked closely with the 2D and 3D leads in order to model, unwrap, texture, and 'set dress' according to standards and the overall vision of the game.
I earned the title of Marketing Lead due to my background in digital media from Brock University. Active blogging, event planning, and designed all promotional material were all tasks that I performed to help promote and foster a community around our game. I was one of the members that presented the game at Fan Expo 2014. As a team we attended Level Up Showcase 2015 where our game won third place awards for both Best Art and Best Overall Design.
